Dr Backhouse is retiring
After 29 years of hard work and dedication to the practice Dr Paul Backhouse is retiring on 02.08.2019.
Dr Backhouse’s passion and commitment to the practice will be hugely missed by patients and colleagues alike. He has made an immense contribution to the development of Bampton Surgery and subsequently Amicus Health. His compassion and expertise has enhanced the lives of many patients and their families.
We wish Dr Backhouse all the very best for his future.
Dr Simon Johnson-Ferguson
Whilst Dr Backhouse is irreplaceable, we are delighted to announce we have an experienced GP, who has worked in the local area for many years joining the Practice 05.08.2019 Dr Simon Johnson-Ferguson. Dr Johnson-Ferguson will be taking over Dr Backhouse’s patient list and will be working the same days.
We hope you join us in wishing Dr Backhouse a fond farewell and extended a warm welcome to Dr Johnson-Ferguson.
Clare House Site
We have a number of changes to our GPs, we apologise for any concern or inconvenience which has been caused by these changes.
Dr Anna Turner
Sadly Dr Turner has left Amicus Health, Anna joined us in August 2018 following the completion of her GP training. Anna has moved to a practice closer to her home. We wish Anna all the best in her future endeavours.
Dr Anna Quine
Dr Quine returned from maternity leave in June and has decided to reduced to two days per week as a result we are reallocating a number of Dr Quine’s patients to alternative GPs.
Dr Josie Wheeler
Dr Wheeler has reduced to a day a week in the practice to allow her to peruse training in dermatology. As a result Dr Wheeler will no longer be holding a patient list and patients are being reallocated to alternative GPs
In September we will be welcoming two new GPs to the team.
Dr George Brighton
Dr Brighton has been with the practice since March 2018 initially as a trainee and more recently upon completion as a locum GP. From September Dr Brighton will be joining the practice for two days per week.
Dr Ben Norris
Dr Norris will be joining the practice from September for three days per week.
During this period of transition those patients who will be moved to Dr Norris or Dr Brighton your care will be covered as if your doctor is on holiday and this may result in different GPs covering you.
We appreciate that any change in GP can be concerning and we apologise for this.
